Robert D. Schreffler, affectionately known as "Mr. Bob", 75, of Hahira, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Lakehaven Nursing Home in Valdosta after a lengthy illness. He was born in Herndon, Pennsylvania on June 16, 1933 to the late David Raymond and Florence Witmer Schreffler. Mr. Bob was retired from Coca Cola, a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean conflict, was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and a member of the Veteran's of Foreign War's.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Sessions Schreffler of Hahira, one daughter, Frances Teresa Taylor of Leesburg, son and daughter in law, William D. (Bill) and Gwen Schreffler of Houston, TX, Keith Daniel Schreffler and his fiancé, Krista Heubusch of Arlington, VA, Kevin A. Schreffler and friend Andrew Angier of Atlanta, two grandchildren, Christopher Robert Orr of Valdosta and Kyle Patrick Orr of Leesburg, two great grandchildren, Parker Robert and Kadyn McKenzie Orr of Leesburg, four brothers and sisters in law, James and Bernetta Schreffler of Harrisburg, PA, Clarence and Shirley Schreffler of Pillow, PA, Glen and Mary Schreffler of Herndon, PA, Mark and Judy Schreffler of Blair, Nebraska, five sisters and one brother in law, Leah Lesher of Millersburg, PA, Ruth Daniel of Herndon, PA, Linda Scheib and Sue Ann Stiely of Millersburg, PA, Debbie and Dan Kish of Elizabethville, PA, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Dale Schreffler, Gene Schreffler, Dean Schreffler and Phil Schreffler, one sister, Renee Wilhelm, one brother in law, Paul Daniel and one grandson, James Steven Orr, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 20, 2008 at two p. m. at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Reverend Carl Howard officiating. Committal services with burial to follow will be at four p. m. in the Sumner Cemetery in Sumner, GA with Reverend Lynn Hurley officiating. The family will receive friends from five until seven p. m. Saturday at the funeral home.
