Robert C. Adkins, Jr.

Robert C. Adkins, Jr., 63, of Valdosta died Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on May 27, 1953 in Folkston, Charlton County, GA to Robert Charles Adkins and Ruth Walton Templeton Adkins. Robert was retired from the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department after thirty five years of service. He began his career with the Charlton County Sheriff's Department and worked there for two years. Robert enjoyed fishing and cooking. He was a 1971 graduate of Charlton County High School in Folkston, GA.
Robert is survived by his wife, Michelle Adkins of Valdosta, daughter, Heather Adkins of Valdosta, son and daughter in law, Charles and Katie Adkins of El Paso, TX, his mother, Ruth T. Adkins of Valdosta, his brother and sister in law, Kyle and Kathy Adkins of Folkston, nieces, Katy Ruth Huling (Benji) and Rebeccah Phillips (Will), parents in law, Lynn and Deb Thiele of Ottawa, KS, several cousins, aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
