Robert "Bobby" Dean Mcmillan

Robert “Bobby” Dean McMillan, 83, of Hahira died Monday, January 8, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Hahira on August 13, 1934 to the late Ernest E. and Dell Hall McMillan. Bobby was retired from PCA after 48 ½ years. He was Power House Supervisor when he retired. Bobby founded Southern Pine Credit Union in 1960 at the papermill and was on the board of directors until December 2016. He was an inductee into the GA Automobile Racing Hall of Fame. Bobby raced cars in the 1960’s at Thunderbowl Speedway and enjoyed antique tractors. He graduated from high school in 1951 and attended GA Military College. Bobby was a farmer and a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
He is survived by three children, Kathy Adkins, Mickey McMillan and Robbie McMillan, all of Hahira, nine grandchildren, Bobby Adkins, Michael Adkins, Matthew McMillan, Aaron McMillan, Jessica McMillan, Stacey McMillan, Ernie McMillan, Jr., Daniel McMillan and Sean McMillan, step children, Linda Hughes, Barbar Lamon and Bobby Bonner, seven step grandchildren and half brother, David Wilkinson of Hahira. Bobby is preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Hall McMillan, son, Ernie McMillan and step son, Andy Bonner.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 13, 2018 at eleven a. m. at Bethany Baptist Church with Pastor Nick Kudyk and Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery. He will be placed in the church at ten a. m. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Friday at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira.
