Robert Blair, Jr., 83, of Valdosta, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Valdosta on February 7, 1937 to the late Robert Blair, Sr. and Lily Mae Scruggs Blair. He had worked as a machinist at Jac’s Lanes and Valdosta Lanes. A diehard Pittsburg Steelers Fan, he also loved baseball and fishing. He was a member of Forrest Park Church of Christ.
Mr. Blair is survived by his wife Helen Butler Blair, of Valdosta; his daughter Kia Goldwire (Antony) of Norcross, GA; a grandson Khalil Goldwire; granddaughter Khloe Goldwire; brother Albert Blair, of Dunedin, FL; sister Eloise (Blair) Hicks, of Laurelton, NY; sister-in-law Hannah Blair; and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Willie Blair, Mabel (Blair) Bouie, Cornelius Blair, and Freddie Blair.
A memorial service will be held at Forrest Park Church of Christ on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 1 p.m. with Mr. Terry Broome officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
