Robert Alton Johnson, 76, of Valdosta died Monday, September 5, 2016 at his home. Mr. Johnson was born on February 24, 1940 in Dothan, Alabama to the late Robert Alton, Sr. and Bannie Estelle Barfield Johnson and had lived in Valdosta for many years. He was a Baptist and a retired truck driver. Mr. Johnson enjoyed fishing and doing mechanics with his grandson and helping any one in need.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra H. Johnson of Valdosta; four daughters and three sons in law, Diane Eunice of Pinetta, FL, Cindy and Terry Luke of Valdosta, Kaye and Ron Martin of Hahira, April and Mitchell Mays of Valdosta; six grandchildren, Jenny(Jon) O'Steen, Jessica Eunice-Green (Jason Green), Emily Pearce, Eason Pearce, Brianna Sealey, Dalton Sealey; five great grandchildren, Kaleigh O'Steen, Kinsley O'Steen, Makinzie Eunice-Green, Dakota Green, Jalynn Green; one sister, Alice Branton of Cottonwood, AL; numerous nieces and nephews; two special dogs, Turk and Brendle.
A visitation for Mr. Johnson will be held on Wednesday from 5-7pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In keeping with Mr. Johnson request he will be cremated and no formal services will be held. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
