Robert Allen Tillman, 53, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, June 3, 2007, at South Georgia Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Adel to the late Homer and Madis Asbell Tillman he was formerly of Moultrie and had made his home in Lowndes County for the past 12 years. Mr. Tillman worked for Rountree Construction and was a truck driver for Tower Transport of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Jan Tillman of Valdosta, son, Brett C. Perrin of Valdosta, daughter and son in law, Renee and Jack Starling of Valdosta, grandsons, Timothy Carlton and John Starling of Valdosta, son and daughter in law, Robbie and Rhonda Tillman of Swainsboro, grandson, Logan Tillman of Swainsboro, sisters, Brenda Williamson of Prattville, Alabama, Elizabeth Tillman of Moultrie, brothers, Loyd Tillman of Sylvester, Roger Tillman of Norman Park, Herman Tillman of Newnan, Steve and Marcie Tillman of Swainsboro, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Skip Van Nus and Reverend Jim Schappaugh will officiate. Burial will follow at the Philadelphia Baptist Cemetery in Live Oak, Florida.
