Rita E. Longfritz

Rita E. Longfritz, 86, died peacefully at Langdale Hospice House on Monday, February 20, 2017.

Born in Gloversville, NY on July 21, 1930, to the late Edward and Clora (Carter) Plumadore, Rita was a part time resident of Valdosta, GA and Gloversville, NY. Rita worked as executive secretary for United Way, and as a bookkeeper for John Fanch and Vrooman Engineers. She enjoyed traveling, and spending time at the ACTO Alzheimer's caregivers group. Rita was also a member of the LWML club at the Messiah Lutheran Church of Valdosta.

Survivors include her daughter, Judith Dewitt (Don) of Valdosta, granddaughter Candi Ashdown and great granddaughter, Alexandra of Las Vegas, granddaughter, Michelle Coehlo (Tony) of Nashville, GA.; her son, Gary Longfritz (Nancy) of Debary, FL and Gloversville, NY; grandson Frank Longfritz and great granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose of Johnstown, NY and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Longfritz was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton to whom she was married for 47 years.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Valdosta, 500 Baytree Rd, Valdosta, GA 31602. A visitation will be held at the church prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. A graveside service will be held in New York in May.
