Rickey Rentz

Rickey Rentz, 61, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born on November 14, 1947 to the late Troy and Zelphia Blanton Rentz and has been a lifelong resident of Valdosta. He was a retired maintenance worker for SAFT and was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Rentz of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Sandra Rentz of Dublin, Georgia; daughters and sons-in-law, Lee Anne and David Feagin of Adel, Cassie and J.R. Carter of Oclocnee, Georgia; a son and daughter-in-law, Cliff and Jennifer Hiers of Lake Park; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Jackie Coker of Sylvester; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy and Glenn Williamson of Valdosta, Shirley and J.R. Lindler of Newberry, South Carolina, Carol and Lex Dyess of Claxton, Georgia, Nancy and Charles Kinsey and Frances and Terry Moore all of Valdosta; sisters-in-law, Cathy Leonard of Lake Park, Karen Evans of Valdosta, Carla Gracia of Valdosta, and Marta Carney of Vero Beach, Florida; a brother-in-law, Ricky Carney of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by a brother, Bobby Rentz.

A graveside service for Rickey Rentz will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rev. Ted Sauls officiating.
