Rickey Lanier Tabor, 69, of Hahira passed away Friday, February 3, 2023 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Lowndes County on May 28, 1953 to the late Thomas Frank Tabor and Mary Hilda Strickland Tabor. He was project manager for Georgia Industrial Maintenance, a welder, a millwright and worked for Georgia Pipe and Supply. Rickey served in the United States Air Force, was a member of Airport Church of Christ and attended Hahira Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding on his tractor, sports, NASCAR, football and softball. More than those things he loved his grandchildren.
Rickey is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jannette Stephens Tabor of Hahira, daughter, Beth Garvitte Magsanay (Rick) of Adel, sons, Ricky Garvitte (Crystal) of Hahira, Brandon Tabor (Tiffany) of Lake Park, ten grandchildren, Amber Magsanay, Destiny Graham, Austin Garvitte, Zoey Graham, Hailey Garvitte, Gracie Tabor, Ashton Tabor, Hayden Tabor, Dawson Tabor and Kinslie Tabor, one great grandchild, Braye Roper, four brothers, Eddie York (Susan) of Quitman, Andy Tabor (Annette) and Wendell Tabor of Valdosta, Lynn Tabor (Jody) of Hahira, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at four p. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Lifelink or to the American Red Cross.
