Richard W. Dennis

Richard W. Dennis, 70, of Lake Park, died on Friday, May 23, 2008, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Born on April 22, 1938, he was the son of the late George Roe and Remmie Terrell Dennis. Mr. Dennis retired in 1993 from the Jacksonville Ship Yard where he had worked for 27 years as a marine pipe fitter. He was a Baptist.

Survivors are his wife, Chloe "Bonnie" Edwards Dennis of Lake Park; his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Sam and Clara Dennis of Lake Park, Eston and Burnell Dennis of Nashville, James E. Dennis of Lake Park, Doris and Tony Lewis of Valdosta, Mildred and Fred Maxwell of Jacksonville, Florida, Roberta Saunders of Lake Park, Dorothy and Jimmy Rogers of Lake Park, Mollie and Randall Sauls of Valdosta, Kathy Booth of Lake Park; a brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tolbert and Mary Edwards, Linda Dennis and Norna Dennis, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister, George Dennis, Charlie Dennis and Edwin Dennis, and Minnie Ruth Godwin.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 26, 2008, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home. Reverend Ted Sauls will officiate. Burial will be at Wrights Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
