Richard Oliver Cloutier

Richard Oliver Cloutier, 82, a resident of Fellowship Home, passed away at Langdale Hospice House on Thursday, August 28, 2014 following a battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born in Claremont, New Hampshire on October 2, 1931 to the late Arthur C. and Blanche M. Lizotte Cloutier. He graduated in 1949 from St. Mary's High School in Claremont, New Hampshire. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served from 1950-1954. Mr. Cloutier began his banking career at The Citizen's Bank in Orlando, Florida. He later moved to Albany, Georgia working most of his time with The Security Bank. He also worked at The Bank of Hartwell and later moved to Milton, Florida where he served as president of the First National Bank. He retired from banking and served as the head of the Chamber of Commerce in Milton, Florida. Two years later, he joined forces with two other businessmen and opened the Gulf Coast Community Bank in Pensacola, Florida. He retired the second time from banking in 2007 and moved to Crossville, Tennessee where he taught identity theft seminars to senior citizens in the area.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard Jr., and Kathy Cloutier of Albany, Georgia; a daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Jay Adkins of Valdosta; the mother of his children, Grace Cloutier of Albany, Georgia; two granddaughters, Haley and Garrett Mager of Nashville, Tennessee, and Kayla Adkins of Valdosta; his sister, Esther Normandiu of Claremont, New Hampshire; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cloutier was preceded in death by his wife, Nita Myers Cloutier; his brothers, Arthur, Elmo, Norman, Marcel, Robert, and Harold Cloutier, and his sisters, Yetive "Betty" Nichols, Irene Wallace, Mae Lambert, Corrine Beaudoin, and Lorraine Young.

A memorial service for Richard Cloutier will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Fellowship Home with Rev. Louis Chester officiating.
