Richard Lawrence “Rich” Williams, 55, of Valdosta, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at St. Lukes Hospital in Jacksonville, FL after a lengthy illness. He was born in Waycross, GA on December 30, 1950 and was the son of the late Mack and Gladys Williams Sr. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Starke, FL, an avid supporter of the University of Florida and Valdosta State University athletic programs.<br><br>Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Lynda C. Jones Williams of Valdosta, two daughters and one son in law, Micayle and Eric Baggett of Lawrenceville, GA, Erin Williams of Valdosta, two sons and one daughter in law, Kevin and Jenna Williams of West Columbia, SC, Dodd Jones of Abilene, TX, two grandchildren, Ashlyn Baggett and Patrick Baggett of Lawrenceville, GA, two sisters and one brother in law, Jane W. and Charles W. McQuaig of Waycross, Ann W. Godwin of Gainesville, FL, five brothers and four sisters in law, Mack L. and Beverly H. Williams of Fairhope, AL, Bob and Pat Williams of Jacksonville, FL, Bennie G. and Sue H. Williams of Savannah, GA, John A. and Martha B. Williams of Ocala, FL, Frank L. Williams of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, seven nieces and five nephews.<br><br>Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend George Bennett, Mr. Darlow Maxwell and Mr. Tom Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in Fletcher Cemetery in Alapaha, GA. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Monday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Valdosta State University for Blazer Football.
