Richard Kevin Carter, 47, of Jennings, Florida died on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the South Georgia Medical Center following a lengthy illness. Kevin was born in Atlanta on April 4, 1968 and has been a resident of this are all of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation. Kevin lived life to the fullest and loved being with his family and friends. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Survivors include his wife, Carla Carter of Jennings; two step-daughters, Emily Asbell of Jennings and A.J. Heidenreich of Tampa, Florida; his mother and step-father, Mary Ann and Dewayne Rowland of Valdosta; his father and step-mother, Jimmy Wayne and Vivian Carter of Macon; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Dawn Carter of Valdosta; three step-sisters and their spouses, Jessica and Randy Moss of Seattle, Washington, Jan Lewis of Macon, Georgia, and Marlene and Phil Dalton also of Macon; two nieces, Danielle Carter and Deanna Carter and two nephews, Dawson Carter and Dillon Lewis; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members. Kevin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dick and Becky Carter and Helen and Gene Conaway.
A graveside service for Kevin Carter will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Dasher Cemetery with Mr. Bruce Barwick officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. McLane Lakewood.
