Richard Harrison (Rickey) Sloan, 65, of Jacksonville, Florida, died on Thursday, November 1, 2018, following a period of declining health. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 24, 1953 to the late James Riley Sloan and the late Wilda Bowman Sloan. He was a huge fan of Alabama football and Bon Jovi. Rickey was known for his giving heart and his love for people. He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include a daughter and a son-in-law, Leah and Tony Crafts of Jacksonville, Florida, a son and daughter-in-law, Richard II, and Jessanna Sloan of Tybee Island, Georgia; and two daughters, Traci Sloan of Jacksonville and Amy Sanders of West Virginia, his grandchildren, Jude Crafts, Ryder Crafts, Henley Sloan, Harrison Sloan, Beckham Marshall, Ian Saunders, and Mali Saunders; his brother, Riley Sloan of Tennessee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Anita Edenfield, Teresa and Eddie Fletcher all of Albany, Georgia, Susan and John Williams of Augusta, Georgia, Cindy and Richard Russell of Valdosta, Carol and Wallace Hill of Madison, Florida, and Pattie and David Hester of Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Sloan.
Services for Richard Harrison (Rickey) Sloan will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
