Richard Darius Carter

Richard Darius Carter, 79, of Lake Park died Monday, February 14, 2022 at South Georgia Medical Center after a short battle due to COVID induced pneumonia. He was born in Valdosta on November 26, 1942 to the late Harley Levi and Daisy Beck Carter. Mr. Carter was a member of the Lake Park Church of Christ. He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Carter; his children and spouses, Alissa Carter Wilson and John Wilson, Markus and Debra Carter, Carman Faith and Brett Roberson all of Lake Park; his grandchildren, Brian Darius Carter and his fiancé Emily Parker, Mary Grace Strom, Zachary Chase and Georgia Robertson, Lakin Laraine and Jamin Herrin; great grandchild, Larsyn Laraine Herrin; brothers and sister in law, William Harley and Clarabeau Carter, Jerry Leonard and Jean Carter; sister and brother in law, Donna Sue and David Copeland all of Lake Park; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Daisy Faye Holtzclaw.
Graveside services will be held at 11am, Friday, 18, 2022 at Corinth Cemetery in Lake Park with Mr. Marvin Greene officiating.
