Richard Allen Hubbard

Richard Allen (Richie) Hubbard, 44, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born on September 22, 1971 in Valdosta and has been a resident his whole life. He was a truck driver with Batt Enterprise and was a member of Francis Lake Baptist Church. Richard was a proud member of the Lowndes High golf team and graduated from Lowndes in 1991. In addition to his great love for golf, he also enjoyed bowling and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Survivors include his fiance, Brenda M. Krolikowski of Valdosta; his son, Allen Joshua Piper of Thomaston, Georgia; his mother, Mary Ellen Salter of Valdosta; step-children, Cody R. Harvey and Kelsey N. Harvey both of Palatka, Florida; his aunts, Jan Marsh and Rhonda Owens both of Valdosta; uncle and aunt, Bernard L. (Duke) and Vickie Owens of Jennings, Florida; his cousins, Mark and Courtney Owens of Jennings and James Ray Marsh of Lake Park; step-grandparents, Louis and Evelyn Salter and a step-aunt, Kathy Meissner all of Shallotte, North Carolina; his brothers and a sister-in-law, Ted Raymond, Sr. and Rose Hubbard of Ohio, Alfred G. Hubbard III of New York, and Ray Hubbard of Atlanta; a sister, Amanda Hubbard of New York; his father and step-mother, Alfred G., Jr. and Rose Hubbard of New York; an uncle, Walter Hubbard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dollie Allison Hubbard; his grandparents, Carl and Mary Marsh; step-father, James Daniel (Dan) Salter and his grandfather, Alfred G. Hubbard, Sr.

Services for Richard Allen (Richie) Hubbard will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2016 at Francis Lake Baptist Church with Rev. Eldridge Lyons officiating. The burial will follow in the Cherry Lake Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to a savings fund with Bank of American, 106 South Patterson St., Valdosta, Ga. 31601, to assist with funeral expenses.
