Richard A. Deloach

Richard A. DeLoach, 66, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on October 27, 1939, the son of Melba M. DeLoach and the late Ralph S. DeLoach. He was a lifetime resident of Valdosta and a graduate of Valdosta State College.

Mr. DeLoach retired as corporate officer of Reames Concrete Company and Reames and Son Construction Company of Valdosta. He began his business career with his father as a corporate officer of Modern Homes Construction Company, later known as Modern Diversified Industries.

Survivors include his wife, Betty S. DeLoach, daughter, Suzanne Tanner and husband, Chip of Quitman, son, R. Arden DeLoach, Jr. and wife, Leigh of Valdosta, his mother, Melba M. DeLoach of Valdosta, sister, Sondra Supp and husband, Pete of Valdosta, brothers, Robert G. DeLoach and wife, Jackie of Valdosta, Doug DeLoach and wife, Kay of Lake City, Florida, Ralph S. (R.S.) DeLoach, Jr. and wife, Karen of Lawrenceville, granddaughters, Victoria Tanner of Quitman, Catherine DeLoach of Valdosta and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. DeLoach was preceded in death by his father and infant son, Rad.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at New Covenant Church in Valdosta with Pastor L.A. Joiner and Pastor Bill Ligon officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
