Reverend T. Ross Hudson, Jr.

Reverend T. Ross Hudson, Jr., 77, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Terrell County, Georgia on January 29, 1936, he was the son of the late Tom Ross ( T.R.) Hudson Sr. and Jessie Almeta Hardy Hudson. Ross began pastoring Naylor Baptist Church in September 1965. Ross was a Pastor, Teacher and School Administrator. In 1999, he retired from the Valdosta City School System after 33 years of service. An avid birdwatcher, he loved fishing and sharing the gospel.
Survivors are his wife, Peggy Anne Harden Hudson of Valdosta; sons, Tony Hudson of Valdosta, Ashley and Amy Wall Hudson of Atlanta; grandson, Jonah Brooks Hudson of Atlanta; his mother, Jessie Hudson Martin of Dawson; sisters, Peggy Pritchard of Dawson, Judy Grady of Watervliet, New York, Jo Alice and Gary Howe of Rotterdam Junction, New York; brother, Kenneth Hudson of Ball Ground.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at eleven a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Dr. Clyde Stokes and Wes Harrell will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Naylor Baptist Church on Friday evening from 5 – 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75231 or to the Alzheimer's Association of Georgia, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta GA 30346.
