Reverend Leonard Harnage, 83, of Hahira passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Cook County, GA on July 23, 1937 to the late Henry Carl and Cloa Harnage. Reverend Harnage was a Church of God Minister for fifty-three years having begun his ministry on April 10, 1967. His wife Marian Marie Dampier Harnage ministered alongside him until her death on October 23, 2019. Reverend Harnage pastored the Hahira Church of God since 1983, was involved in the church's food bank and was a bishop. He worked for twenty years and was retired from Harvey Supermarket.
Reverend Harnage is survived by his sons and daughters in law, Jimmy and Carolyn Harnage of Echols County, Steve and Kim Harnage of Barney, daughter and son in law, Brenda and Rickey Bailey of Adel and son in law, Bill Foppe of Indianapolis, IN, grandchildren, Christy McLeod, Jason Harnage, Stacey Pearce, Michele Crockett, Jacob Harnage, Jessica Howard, Brandon Harnage, Abby Harnage, KayLeigh Hall, Tanner Harnage, Kyle Browning, Ashley Hiatt, Blake Goolsby, Brandon Goolsby, Austin Goolsby and Colin Goolsby, twenty great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, sister, Idell Register and two brothers, BillJack Harnage and Murray Harnage. He is predeceased by his wife, parents, daughter, Cheryl Ann Foppe, son, Henry Carl Harnage, grandson, Alex Harnage and brother, Leland Harnage.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 28, 2020 at three p. m. in the chapel of the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Pastor Mike Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Wilkes Community Cemetery in Cook County. The family will receive friends from five until seven p. m. Sunday at the funeral home.
