Renzo Stephen Milani

RENZO STEPHEN MILANI, 78, of Valdosta, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 3, 2010, at South Georgia Medical Center.

He was born June 20, 1931 in Torrington, CT, a son of the late Stephen and Erma Fiono Milani. Renzo served four years in the United States Air Force, stationed at Moody Air Force Base. Following his enlistment he entered the Civil Service, working in airplane mechanics at Moody and later transferring to vehicle maintenance. He retired as Supervisor in 1992 after 40 years of service. For the past 18 years he had worked as Custodian at Morningside Baptist Church.

Mr. Milani was a member of Morningside Baptist Church, and American Legion Post #13. He greatly loved and enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Martha Milani; a daughter, Candace R. Milani; a son, Steven E. Milani, all of Valdosta; two granddaughters, Taylor and Maddie Milani of Cordele; special friends, Richard and Joanne Brown of Valdosta, John and Cindy Woodard of Cordele, Ruth Roberts of Enigma, Bridget Milani of Cordele, Mark, Jill and Emma Kate Lees of Macon, Darryl, Tracey, Reagan and Garrett Cox of Bainbridge, and the congregation at Morningside Baptist Church; and special cousins, Dean and Sandy Safford of Cooper City, FL, and their children, Suzanne and Stephen. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Edie Guilmart and Claire Baca.

Funeral Services for Mr. Milani will be held at 11:00 am Friday, May 7, 2010, at Morningside Baptist Church, 425 Connell Road, with Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Milani's family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
