Redden Parramore Hart

November 20, 1957 — February 25, 2015

Redden Parramore Hart, 57, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born to Lilla Kate & George H. Hart, Jr. on November 20, 1957 in Valdosta, GA. Mr. Hart graduated from Valdosta High School in the mid 1970's, he went on to attend Georgia Institute of Technology and then graduate from Valdosta State University. He worked at Culbreth, Stout & Associates and currently was working at Triad Isotopes. For most of his life, Mr. Hart has been involved in Boy Scouts. He earned his Eagle Scout in 1973, and in 1999 became Scoutmaster of Troup 403 and ultimately was one of the longest tenured Scoutmasters in the state. He was awarded the Scoutmaster of Merit in 2011 and in 2008 was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, the highest award Scouting can present to an adult Scouter. He loved being with his boys. Mr. Hart was also the President of the Valdosta Chapter of the Sons of the Revolution (SAR), Treasurer of the Lowndes County Historical Society. He was also a member of the Valdosta Heritage Foundation and was a faithful member of his church, Central Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Sanders Hart of Valdosta, his son and daughter in law, Craig & Amy Hunt of Greenville, SC; a daughter and son in law, Amanda & Joe Miles, of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Sam Hunt & Caroline Hunt, both of Greenville, SC, Haley Miles & Emma Miles, both of Valdosta; his parents, Lilla Kate & George Hart, Jr. of Valdosta; three brothers and two sisters in law, Dr. George H. & Nancy Hart of Macon, Bill Hart of Valdosta, Edward & Karen Hart of Dallas, TX and several nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, John Remer Hart.
A funeral for Mr. Hart will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. John Klimko, Mr. Bryan Jarvis, Rev. Drew Boswell and Mr. David Lasseter will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2015. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the South Georgia Council of Boy Scouts, 1841 Norman Dr., Valdosta, GA 31601.
