Rebecca (Becky) Flythe

Rebecca (Becky) Flythe 80, of Valdosta died Saturday, May 8, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 7, 1940 to the late Donald J. and Martha Lail Welch and had lived in Valdosta for many years. Mrs. Flythe was a member of the Charity Baptist Church and a retired Registered Nurse with South Georgia Medical Center and Lowndes County Health Department. She was a member of the Withlachoochee Quilters Guild, Sharing Stitches Quilt Group and the Doll Club. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts and collecting dolls.
Survivors include two sons, Dale Flythe and Mark A. and Penny Flythe all of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Jarrett Flythe, Jamie Flythe, Katie Flythe, Jake Flythe; two sisters, Barbara A. Culbertson and Kay Griffith; sister-in-law, Von Dutton; her stepmother, Doris Welch all of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, James Kenneth Flythe, a sister, Dottie Burke and a brother, Tommy Dutton.
Graveside services will be held at 12pm, Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Rev. Beau Washburn officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pearlman Cancer Center, 2501 N.
