Mrs. Rebecca Ann Ezzell Tyler, 82, of Valdosta, passed away at Langdale Hospice House on Saturday, August 5, 2023. Born in Autryville, North Carolina, Mrs. Tyler had made her home in Valdosta for many years. She was a dedicated homemaker, a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. A woman of great faith, she was steadfast and actively involved in her church, Faith Baptist. She loved and was devoted to her family and friends. A fine cook Mrs. Tyler took joy in cooking, baking and sharing whatever came out of her kitchen with those she loved. She enjoyed gathering and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors are her daughters, Diane Wiese of Valdosta, Karen Barlow (Randy) of Warner Robins, a son, Joseph Tyler of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Roy Pleasant (Courtney), Stephen Ezzell (Michelle), Justin Wiese, Ashley King (Matthew) all of Valdosta; seven great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ty, and Lyla Ezzell, Sierra Rose, James, Blake and Kaden King.
Mrs. Tyler is preceded in death by her parents, James King Ezzell and Ronia Ann Faircloth Ezzell, her husband, Doyster Marion Tyler, Sr., daughter, Marian Ezzell, son, Doyster Tyler, Jr., and her siblings, Ethel Lockamy, Kathleen Halloway, Lucy Bell Pleasants, James, Johnnie, Jeff, Anson, Raymond and Stephen Ezzell. She is also predeceased by her sisters in law and brothers in law, Oweda Williams, Juanita Griffin, Essie Mae Frier, Russell Tyler and Joseph Tyler.
Funeral services will be held at Faith Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Peter Moseley will officiate. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com
