Raymond Logan Brown

Raymond L. Brown, 82, of Valdosta, died Friday, June 10, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Cleveland, TN on May 17, 1929 to the late William Oscar and Nora Lee Carden Brown. Mr. Brown was a retired heavy equipment operator with Reames and Son Construction Company, was a United States Army veteran and a member of the Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Brown of Valdosta, his children, Robert Lee Brown, Sr. of Valdosta, Louise Brown Harrell (Warren) of Albany, William Fred Brown, Sr. (Vivian) of Valdosta, Byron Keith Brown (Annie) of Hawaii, Charlotte Marie Cowart (Steve) of Hahira, fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one brother, Billy Brown of Epperson, TN and one sister, Martha Brown of Nashville, TN. Mr. Brown is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Diane Brown Jernigan, one son, Darren Scott Brown, one brother, Thomas Brown, one sister, Jackie Dasher, one granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Cowart and one son in law, William Joseph (Joey) Crider.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17, 2011 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Frier officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery in Echols County. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the funeral home.
