Raymond Lightsey

Raymond Lightsey, 87, of Valdosta, died at his home on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Born on April 10, 1934, in Lanier County, Georgia, he was the son of the late L.B. and Amanda Brady Lightsey. Mr. Lightsey was a machinist. A quiet man, he was humble and hardworking. He loved his church, Morningside Baptist, and he loved his family. Raymond enjoyed a good game of Rummy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Molly Pate and Lona Lightsey Bradwell, his brothers, McDaniel Hurst, Harmon Hurst, William Hurst, and LeRoy Hurst. Survivors include his many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Burnt Church Cemetery near Lakeland, in Lanier County, on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Mr. John Yates will officiate. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home is serving the Lightsey family.
