Raymond L. Moody, 79, of Naylor, Georgia, died Sunday, July 16, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta after a brief illness. Born in Portland, Oregon on February 7, 1927, he was formerly of Kodiak, Alaska and had made his home in Lowndes County for the past 4 months. Mr. Moody was an electronics engineer. He had served with the United States Marines and was a Merchant Marine. He was a member of the American Legion, was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors are his wife, Penny; daughters and son in law, Linda Casper of South Bend, Washington, Pam and Ron Vess of Tucson, Arizona, sons and daughters in law, Melvin Barkfelt of Bakersfield, California, Larry and Tawnia Moody of Pendleton, Oregon, Jim and Norene Moody of Kalispell, Montana, Hans and Kathy Moody of Kodiak, Alaska; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, Clifford Moody.
