Raymond Earl Babcock, 48, of Naylor, departed this world peacefully on July 5, 2010 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 9, 1961 to the late Raymond Wayne and Margaret Ann Raney Babcock. Ray grew up in Platte County Missouri and was a professional lead guitarist all his life. He played through out the Midwest and the South. Ray was a good human being who was loved by many and a friend to all.
He has left to mourn his passing a son, Daniel Raymond Babcock of Kansas City; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Ramona and Scott Lingo of Liberty, MO., Rhonda and Don Davis of Smithville, MO., Rae Dean and Rick Crosby of Valdosta and Karen and Tom Carilyle of Palm Beach, FL.; a brother, Dennis Babcock of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by many and forever loved.
A memorial service for Raymond Babcock will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in honor of Ray can be made to Hospice of South Georgia.
