Ray Ripko, 70, of Valdosta died on Friday, February 22, 2008 at South Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania to the late Stanley Paul and Anna Kozi Ripko.
He owned and operated Ripko Grocery and S&A Restaurant and started the Little Schuylkill Conservation Club all in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. Mr. Ripko was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marion J. Ripko of Valdosta; step-sons and their spouses, Richard and Loree Sasseen of Valdosta, Gregory and Toni Sasseen of Douglasville, Mark and Rita Sasseen of Nesquehoning, Penn.; grandchildren, Christina, Victoria, Elizabeth, Michelle, Jessica, Suzanne, and Josh; two great-granddaughters; sister and brother-in-law, Anna Marie and Frank Stefanick of Knoxville, TN.; sisters and brothers, Priss Hynote and family, Dot Brown and family, Nick Hynote and family, Coy Hynote and family, Henry Hynote and family and Bonnie Hanna and family.
A visitation for Mr. Ray Ripko will be held on Sunday, Februrary 24, 2008 from 4-6 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
