Ronald Ray Poole, 54, of Valdosta, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. Born in Valdosta on July 3, 1960, Ray was the son of the late Pearl McLendon and Raymond Dallas Poole. He was a graduate of the 1978 Class of Valdosta High School and was employed as a fabricator at Fabtronics. Ronald was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed following NASA and he studied space and Astronomy. He loved to read, listen to Beatles music and spending time outdoors, gardening and camping. He was an inspiration to others who suffered with and fought cancer.
Survivors are his best friend, Sharon Williams of Lake Park; daughter, Hannah Poole of Lake Park; sister and brother in law, Kathy and Brian Cosey, niece, Jassica Massey of Clyattville, Ashley Haas of Kent, Ohio, Briana Cosey of Columbus, great niece, Miss Zoey Lynn Touchton of Clyattville and a large group of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Mac Weaver and Tracy Hill will officiate. Burial will follow at Longbridge Cemetery in Nashville. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 7 – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
