Ray Gordon Coppage, 88, of Hahira and Adel, died Sunday, November 20, 2005 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on August 13, 1917 in Lowndes County to the late Gordon Lee and Willie Ozella Cowart Coppage. Mr. Coppage was retired from Valdosta Hardware and Mill Supply and was a member of New Friendship Primitive Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Willene Sirmans Coppage and is survived by his wife, Tense Coppage of Adel, two daughters and one son in law, Linda and Sonny Miley of Hahira, Glenda Hendrick of Sparks, five grandchildren, Tracy Bledsoe, Vanessa Trondson, Mike Miley, Heather Gibbs and Kelly Sadler, one sister, Ruth Hall of Hahira, one brother, Hoyt Coppage of Hahira, great grandchildren, Michaela Bledsoe Kean, Krystin Bledsoe, Sean Bledsoe, Taylor Trondson, Ashley Trondson, Chase Miley, Landon Miley, Phillip Gibbs, Harley Gibbs, Hunter Gibbs, Kaleb Sadler and Maggie Sadler and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at three p. m. at New Friendship Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Thad Marshall, Elder Bob Dickerson and Elder Jim Smith officiating. He will lie in state for one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m.
