Rannell Cotton passed away suddenly at home on July 1, 2021, after an extended illness. Mr. Cotton was born October 17, 1947, in Sheridan, AR to the late Regel and Inez Fletcher Cotton. After graduation Mr. Cotton joined the US Marines. After his term in the Marines, he moved to Lowndes County and was a journeyman electrician with the local IBEW. When his health declined he went to work for SAFT where he retired after 17 years. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and rabbit hunting with the Parker Boys. Mr. Cotton is a member of Redland Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, past Sunday School director and Sunday School assistant teacher of the men’s class.
He is survived by his wife Bonita (Bunny) Cotton, his daughters Christy (Marvin) Tullis of Valdosta, Chasidy Kenerly (Seth) of St Augustine, FL and a son Chad Drew (Adrienne) of Tarpon Springs, FL; the apple of his eye granddaughters, Lily Tullis, Aubrey Drew, Mattie Kenerly and Hannah Kenerly; his grandson Brendan Drew. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Darlene Jackson.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021 at 11 am, at Redland Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jay Watkins officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11am at Redland Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Camp Rock of South Georgia, PO Box 1528, Valdosta, GA 31606.
