Randy Lee Peterson

Randy Lee Peterson, 53, of Valdosta, GA died on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at his residence after a lengthy illness. Born on December 4, 1951 in Seattle, WA, he was the son of Annie Peterson and the late Gerald Peterson. He greatly enjoyed traveling the world as a merchant seaman having spent extensive time in Alaska, the Caribbean and had also traveled to Japan, South America, Europe and the Middle East. He loved to golf and to fish from the back of his tugs as they traveled from port to port. He loved his family and was with them to the end and took great pride in the accomplishments of his children and his wife. Mr. Peterson deeply loved his church family at Christ Fellowship Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Linda Kleinschmidt Peterson of Valdosta; daughter, Emma Peterson of Valdosta, son, Aaron Peterson of Valdosta; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jan and Gary Owens of Renton, WA, Marilyn Peterson of Issaquah, WA, Linda and Stan Prescott of Kent, WA; brothers and sister-in-law, Carl Peterson and Jeff and Cynthia Peterson all of Seattle. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Peterson.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, at Christ Fellowship Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christ Fellowship Church Building Fund, 417A Connell Road, Valdosta, GA 31602, or to the South Georgia Medical Center Foundation which will share donations between Hospice of South Georgia and the Pearlman Cancer Center.
