Randall R. Carter, 88, of Lake Park, GA, passed away October 19, 2014 at Fellowship Home after a brief illness. He was born in Statenville, GA on December 11, 1926 to the late Eugene Cobb and Lily Mae Carter. Mr. Carter served in the United States Army during World War Two and came home to become a truck driver and raise his family. He was a member of Loch Laurel Baptist Church and the American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family, helping others, fishing and maintaining his land.
Randall R. Carter is survived by seven children, Kenny and Linda Carter of Perry, FL, Debbie and Bob Seko of Lake Park, GA, Gene and Faye Carter of Enigma, GA, Randy Carter, Leonard and Cheryl Carter, Barbara and Gary Williams, and DeLorous Bunnell, all of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters and one brother, Alma Jean Sumner of Tifton, GA, Carolyn Johnson of Valdosta, GA, and Donnie Carter of Valdosta, GA; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Carter and two brothers, Harry Carter and Billy Carter.
Graveside services for Randall R. Carter will be held at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Carter Cemetery at Sardis Baptist Church in Echols County. The family will receive friends at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park from 3-4 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2014.
