RALPH WALDO STITH, 91, of Hahira died Saturday, October 23, 2004 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on October 3, 1913 in Carroll County to the late Edwin Arnold and Mattie Lou Chatham Stith and was reared and lived in Moultrie before moving to Hahira many years ago. Mr. Stith loved life to the fullest, his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his neighbors. He was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtice (Mutt) Stith of Hahira, his children and their spouses, Edwin Lee and Dianne Stith of Hahira, Elaine and David Dillard of Hahira, Peggy and Jimmy Shiver of Valdosta, his grandchildren and their spouses, Keith and Jennifer Stith, Missy and Scott Turner, Joey Stith, Ellis Shiver, Bart and Amy Shiver, Todd and Kelly Shiver, his great grandchildren, Stuart Stith, Anna and Bridger Turner, Cole and Alexia Shiver, Eliza Grace Shiver and Bridgette Redding, his sister, Alma Dungan of Macon.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at the Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Mr. Stith will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.
