Rachel Norman Johnson, 77, of Valdosta died Wednesday, August 8, 2018. She was born in Moultrie, Georgia on October 21, 1940 to the late Howell and Cora Alice Barber Norman and had lived in Valdosta most of her life. Mrs. Johnson was of the Baptist faith. She loved baking and was an avid reader. Mrs. Johnson was a retired school teacher having taught in several school districts in this area and led many community Bible studies in Valdosta following her retirement from teaching.
Survivors include her sister, Cora Norman Taylor of Norman Park, GA; two brothers and sisters in law, Howell L. and Bonnie Norman of Lascassas, TN, Tommy M. and Freda Norman of Dunwoody, GA; three nieces, Alicia Hiers, Rita Wills both of Moultrie, GA, Janet Thompson of Carrollton, GA; two nephews, Rock Bledsoe of Moultrie, GA, Greg Norman of Chattanooga, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold D. Johnson and a sister Mary Jo Bledsoe.
Graveside services will be held at 11am, Friday, August 10, 2018 at Wayfare Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Jeri V. Pruette officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
