Rachael D. Braswell

Rachael D. Braswell, 77, of Valdosta, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2011. Born in Eagle Lake, Texas, on May 29, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Hilario S. and Elizabeth Gallegos Diaz. Formerly of Cherry Lake, Florida, she had lived in Valdosta for the past six years. She was retired from the Florida Department of Corrections where she had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Mrs. Braswell was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband, Gordon B. Braswell of Valdosta; daughter, Dawn Braswell of Oakville, Ontario, Canada, a son, Gavin B. Braswell of Albany, daughter in law, Jennifer G. Bond of Albany; grandchildren, Rachael T. Ruth of Oakville, Ontario, Canada, McKenzee G. Braswell and Mason R. Braswell of Houston, Texas, sister, Martha Sosa of Houston, Texas, brother, David Diaz of Eagle Lake, Texas.

Funeral services for Rachael D. Braswell will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011, at Faith Baptist Church. Pastor Gene Wisehart and Pastor Mickey Wisehart will officiate. Burial will follow 2:00 p.m. at Cherry Lake United Methodist Church Cemetery.
