Porfirio Casas, 60, of Valdosta, died on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on September 15, 1954 in Palmar, Mexico and has been a resident of Valdosta for 25 years. He was employed with ADM as lead operator in charge of the plant during his shift. He was a quiet man who worked hard and loved his wife, children and grandchildren. Mr. Casas was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Jeanene Casas; his son, Porfirio Thomas Casas; his daughter, Lydia Jeanene Casas; his three grandchildren, Haliey Carroll, Isabela Abigail Casas, and Karrina Casas all of Valdosta; his parents, Santos Casas and Enriqueta Rodriguez of Palmar, Mexico; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Lazara and Yolanda Casas of Chicago, Illinois, Pablo and Margarita Casas of Valdosta, Jose Casas of Morven, and Lorenzo Casas and Vincenta Sanchez of Chicago, Illinois; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Epifania Casas and Fortino Hernandez, Atanasia Casas and Eduardo Perez, Aurelia Casas, and Carpojoro Gorostieta all of Palmar, Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Porfirio Casas will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
