Plez Register, 100, of Valdosta died Monday, October 1, 2018 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on April 25, 1918 in Echols County, Georgia to the late Samuel and Lurainey Register and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr. Register was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in World War II and was retired from Texture Tex. He enjoyed working and gardening. Mr. Register was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Robert and Marilyn Register, Darrell and Lydia Register all of Hahira; his grandchildren, Greg and Melissa Register, Melanie McGinnis, Kimberly and Eric Cone, Tammy and Derek Banaitis, Sam, Jr. and Kaci Register, Wade Register, Brianne and Luke Braswell, Brittney and Jonathan Tanner; 10-great grandchildren; his sister in law, Freddie Lou Register of Echols County; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Hilliard Register, a son, Sammy R. Register, two brothers, Arzell Register, Chandler Register, two sisters, Ruby Dempsey and Ruthie Sauls, two half brothers, Freeman Register, Floyd Register and a half sister, Candacy Chitty.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church with Dr. Clyde Stokes officiating. Burial will follow in the Wayfare Cemetery.
