Phillis Rose Lindsey, 69, of Valdosta, passed away Sunday, April, 19, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Vincennes, IN on May, 19, 1945 to the late Claude and Corrie Miniard Frederick and had lived in the Valdosta area since 1977. Mrs. Lindsey was a homemaker and a member of Pine Grove Baptist church where she had been a Sunday school teacher and involved in missions across the United States. She was also involved in Lifeline Ministries of Thomasville, GA.
Phillis Rose Lindsey is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kimberly and Wayne Youmans of Lake Park, Judy and Rodd Maeyoshimoto of Honolulu, HI, Kelly Stone of Valdosta; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Sara Lindsey of Valdosta; five grandchildren, April Youmans, Amanda Stone, Anna Bella "Sunshine" Jackson, Aidan Sean Lindsey, Reese "Momo" Maeyoshimoto; two great grandchildren, Alyssa Bates and Alivia Bates; two brothers, Lamar Stowers and Royce Frederick. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lindsey was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Franklin Lindsey and by a brother, Charles Miniard.
Graveside services for Phillis Rose Lindsey will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Friendship Cemetery in Hahira, GA. Rev. Jim Schappaugh and Pastor Steve Ward will officiate.
