Phillip Howard Ely, Sr.

Phillip Howard Ely, Sr., 67, of Hahira died on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. He was born on January 19, 1948 in Kingsport, Tennessee and had lived in Hahira for many years. Mr. Ely was a Baptist and served for twenty two years in the United States Air Force. He served in Vietnam War and Desert Shield. Mr. Ely enjoyed fishing and building model airplanes.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret (Peggy) Ely of Hahira; son and daughter in law, Phillip (PJ) Ely, Jr. and Ashley Ely of Hahira; two daughters, Bonnie Ely of Hahira, Hilary Gregorie of Fairfax, VA; grandsons, DeVaughn Edwards, Shane Ely, Logan Ely all of Hahira, Caleb Gregoire and Matthew Gregoire both of Fairfax, VA; granddaughters, Salina Ely, Cassey Ely, Trinity Ely all of Hahira, Jenna Gregoire of Fairfax, VA; his mother and stepfather, Evelyn and John Johnson of Largo, FL; Larry Ely of Homosassa, FL, Johnny Ely and David Johnson both of Largo, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Ely.
Graveside services with military honors will be held 12pm, Friday, December 18, 2015 at Tallahassee National Cemetery in Tallahassee, Florida.
