Peter C. Candelario, Sr.

Peter C. Candelario, Sr., 79, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Fellowship Home. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he graduated from Manual Training High School there and went on to graduate from Brooklyn College with a Math degree. While in college he participated in ROTC, and following college, briefly served in the U.S. Army. After his time in the Army, he began work as an Actuary and worked for New York State until his retirement in the late 1990's. During his younger days, he loved playing softball, lifting weights and playing chess. Mr. Candelario was always a hardworking person who sought to provide well for his family.

Mr. Candelario is survived by his wife, Ellie Candelario of Sparks, two sons and daughter in law, Pete & Beth Candelario of Valdosta and Robert Candelario of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Johnathan Candelario of Anchorage, AK, Peter Candelario III, Kasey Candelario, James Candelario, Dian Candelario and Kayden Candelario, all of Valdosta. He is also survived by a sister, Lydia Segura Candelario of Puerto Rico and a brother, Carlos Candelario of Baltimore, MD. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Elisa Candelario.
