Penny C. Moxley passed away on her 89th birthday, Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Lakehaven Nursing Home after a long illness.
She was born October 17, 1923 in Moultrie, a daughter of the late Henry and Penny Cosby. Mrs. Moxley had worked at Strickland Cotton Mill, and retired from Levi Strauss as an Inspector. She was a loving, wonderful mother and grandmother, and family always came first. She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Jo Sculley and husband Alton of Valdosta, Dixie Ann Terry of Valdosta and her fiancé Jerry Mitchell of McIntyre; three grandchildren, Jim Colwell, Jr. and wife Keri Ann of Valdosta, Dena Ann Bamburg of Valdosta, and Lisa Marie Wade and husband Wesley of Leesburg; eight great-grandchildren, Raylene Shinall, Rhiannon Mize, Lane Shinall, Nicklaus Bamburg, Sadie Bamburg, Haleigh Colwell, Jacey Colwell and Dallas Colwell; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Ray Moxley in 1991; three brothers, Lucius, Carl and Lynn Cosby; and by a loving aunt, Bet Chambers, who helped raise her.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012, at Sunset Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Bob Willis officiating.
