Peggy S. Craven Luke, 89, of Valdosta died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Fellowship Home. She was born on May 30, 1923 in Brooks County, Georgia to the late Edgar Elisha and Wilma Rebecca Bishop Simpson and was a lifelong resident of Brooks County. Mrs. Luke was retired from Owens-Illinois Bag Division and a member of the Woodmen of the World. She was a charter member of the Charity Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons and four daughters in law, Seabron and Ruth Craven of Valdosta, Carroll and Judy Craven of Nashville, Susan Craven Zipperer and her husband, Gilbert Zipperer of Valdosta, Ann Craven Courson of Baxley, grandchildren and their spouses, Zane and Laine Craven, Bert Craven all of Valdosta, Shannon and Rob Hawkins of Ray City, Shawna and Gregg Hughes, Trae and Terri Craven all of Nashville, Steve and Pam Craven, Lynn Craven White, Marsha and Randy Thomas all of Baxley, Tracy and Lamar Burdette, Gretchen and Randy Johnson all of Savannah, Cole and Betsy Craven of Valdosta, Shiloh and Allison Craven of Jacksonville, FL, Caleb and Kristi Craven of Valdosta, numerous great grandchildren, two brothers and sisters in law, E. J. and Ann Simpson, Bobby and Carla Simpson, D'Ree Simpson all of Brooks County, two sisters, Betty Phillips of Moultrie and Rebecca Maxwell of Brooks County, stepchildren, Lloyd and Gloria Luke, Alfred and Diane Luke, Colin and Diane Luke, J. W. and Sue Luke, Martha and Alton Brooks all of Valdosta, Claudia and John Golden of Hahira, Joyce and Jim Blanton of Macon, Diann Luke of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry C. Craven and Claude Luke, two sons, Ronnie Craven and Larry Craven, one brother, E. E. Simpson, Jr. and a stepson, James Luke.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, December 4, 2012 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
