Peggy Ann Hudson

Peggy Ann Hudson, 83, of Valdosta, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at her home. She was born in Cordele, GA to the late Joseph (Joe) Willis Harden and Ava Grace Adair Harden. Mrs. Hudson grew up in Turner County and graduated from Turner County High School in the late 1950’s. She then attended Valdosta State College and received her teaching degree. While attending Valdosta State College, she met Ross Hudson, and they began dating and eventually married on September 22, 1963. Soon after graduation, she started teaching English and French in Lanier County Schools. Mrs. Hudson taught for several years before deciding to stay home and be a homemaker. She was a very supportive pastors’ wife throughout her husband, Ross Hudson’s, pastoral career, helping with administrative, youth, and Sunday school duties. Mrs. Hudson was a devoted grandmother, and she loved animals from pets to the birds in the backyard.

Mrs. Hudson is survived by her son Tony Hudson, of Valdosta, son Ashley and his wife, Amy Hudson, of Chamblee, GA; her grandchildren, Jonah Hudson, and Grant Ross Hudson, both of Chamblee, GA; her sister Patricia Becton, of Valdosta; and brother, Richard and his wife, Jo Harden, of Tampa, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Reverend Ross Hudson.

A funeral service for Mrs. Hudson will be held at 2pm on Saturday, August 10, 2024 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Clyde Stokes officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
