Pauline Gertrude Corbett, 92, of Echols County died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. Mrs. Corbett was born in Echols County on August 25, 1916 to the late James and Gertrude Kinsey Carter and was a lifelong resident of Echols County. She was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church and her family was her life and she spent much time as a caregiver for her family. Mrs. Corbett loved to fish, cook and grow flowers.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Patricia Corbett Biles and Jim Biles of Douglasville, daughter in law, Janice Corbett of Echols County, four grandchildren, Rick (Tammy) Biles, Laura (Chris) McGuire, Matt Biles and Sarah Corbett, three great grandchildren, Molly Biles, Gavin McGuire and Amelia McGuire. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Richard Corbett, her son, Larry Corbett and two sisters, Lillian Miller and Christine Ritter.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2009 at the Sardis Baptist Church with the Rev. Garvie Nichols and Rev. Marvin Smith officiating.
