Paul Pharise Price

Paul Pharise Price, 93, of Lowndes County, passed away at Presbyterian Home, on December 20, 2014. One of six children, he was born December 16, 1921, in Brooks County, GA, to the late Thomas and Carrie Cooper Price. After high school, he served in the United States Army. Later on, he and his brother, James Price operated Price's Cabinet Shop for several years. He then went out on his own and operated Price's Insulation Company until his retirement in the early 90's. Mr. Price thoroughly enjoyed his life and was well known for his vast preserve of unusual animals and wildlife. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Kenneth Paul & Linda Price of Brooks County, and George Thomas & Catherine Price of Valdosta; two daughters and sons in law, Janie Carolyn & Danny Dunlap of Woodstock, and Paula Frances & Rusty Fleetwood of Valdosta; eight grandchildren, LaRanda Price of Panama City, FL, Brooke Price Hendry (Chris) of Macon, Tom Price (Jessica) of Marietta, Kimberly Dunlap Barbee (Todd) of Nashville, TN, Kelly Dunlap Shank (Jason) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Jason Montgomery (Heather) of Valdosta, Graham Zipperer (Keri) of Valdosta, and Leslie Zipperer Herring (Jordan) of Valdosta, GA. Also surviving are 10 great grandchildren, Danielle Duggart of Nashville, TN, Lacey Montgomery and Jalie Montgomery both of Valdosta, Landen Zipperer, Layton Zipperer and Landry Zipperer, all of Valdosta, Alexis Blanton Hendry of Macon, Thomas Finnegan Price of Marietta, Ayden Price, and Corbin Price both of Panama City, FL; a sister Mae Price Baker of Valdosta, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances Whitaker Price; a sister Georgia Price Pruitt and three brothers, Thomas Claude Price, Lorenza Burton Price, James Burchett Price.

The funeral service for Mr. Price will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. Larry Price and Rev. Richard Hart will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from one p.m. until service time, before the service. The burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
