Paul Norman Yale, Jr

Paul Norman Yale, Jr., 55, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016 at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill, North Carolina after a short Illness. He was born February 12, 2961 in Valdosta, Georgia and graduated from Valdosta High School in 1979. He attended the youth programs at Central Avenue Church of Christ taught by Mr. Dan Dozier. Paul was baptized into Christ by Elder William Al Turner, Sr. He read his Bible and prayed daily.
After graduation from high school, he worked as short time in Valdosta before moving to Savannah, Georgia and later to Durham, North Carolina to work for Anchor Financial Group. He also worked for several years with Central Carolina Bank. Paul later accepted the position of Vice President of Mortgage Loans SunTrust Bank, where he has worked for the past fifteen years.
Paul served on various Boards including serving as Vice President of Preservation Durham. He was a gourmet cook who enjoyed entertaining he many friends. He loved watching basketball, but more than anything he loved spending time with his special dog, Winston C.
Paul is survived by his father, Paul Norman Yale, Sr. (Jane); his very special aunt, Betty Rose Yale (BeBe); aunts, Louise Yale Sainz and Lynn Mangum Harper; uncles, Sam Mangum, Arthur Yale and Donald Yale; and numerous cousins and special caring friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Jean Mangum Carter; his much loved grandmothers, Mae Elizabeth Woodruff (Nanny) and Marilyn Caldwell Mangum (MeMe); his great grandmother, Martha Caldwell and several aunts and uncles.
There will be a visitation for Paul beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 26 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home, 2215 North Patterson Street, Valdosta, Georgia. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in the McLane Chapel with burial to follow in the family plot at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
