Paul Moore Craig, Jr.

Paul Craig, 72, of Valdosta, died on Friday, March 20, 2009 following a sudden illness. Born in Eudora, AR, Paul and his family had lived here for the past 40 years. Paul was a gentle soul who was loving and greatly loved. He loved his father very much and served and cared for him in his later years. Following the death of his father, he has been loving and caring for his mother. Paul especially loved his music and working in the yard.
Paul is survived by his mother, Dr. Margaret Craig, of Valdosta; a sister Dr. Margaret Duerson of Gainesville, FL; a nephew, Dr. Craig (Christine) Duerson, of St. Petersburg; four great nieces and nephews, Tyler Duerson and Darbi Duerson, both of Jacksonville, FL, Parker Duerson and Hayden Duerson, both of St. Petersburg, FL. Also surviving are two aunts, Janet Stephenson of Hattiesburg, MS and Mabel Bing of Lake Village, AR. Paul is preceded in death by his father, Paul Moore Craig, Sr.; a brother in law, G. Kearney Duerson; and a nephew, Mark K. Duerson.
Graveside services for Paul will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. The family will receive friends at Carson McLane Funeral Home on Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 4 until 6 p.m. A Celebration of his life with remarks will occur at 5 p.m. during the visitation.
