Paul Meredith Rauen, 95, of Hahira, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2020. He was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 24, 1925 to the late Willis E. Rauen and Dorothy Evans Rauen. Mr. Rauen was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in WWII. He loved to sing, paint, and work with flowers and plants. He was a professor of horticulture at Oregon State University. He enjoyed hiking and his favorite place to visit was Glacier National Park in Montana. He was a good man who dearly loved his wife of 21 years, Avie Cecilia Moree Rauen.
Mr. Rauen is survived by his wife of 21 years, Avie Moree Rauen, of Hahira, his children, Douglas (Julie) Rauen, of Aurora, OR, Peter Rauen, of Camas, WA, Earl (Cindy) Musgrove, of Valdosta, Freda (David) Mitchell, of Quitman, Cathy Hardman, of Cecil, Kenny Musgrove, of Valdosta, and Susan Pope, of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary Lou Rauen Smith, and brother Willis Edgar Rauen, Jr.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 1 pm at Friendship Cemetery with Reverend Jack Sievard officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
