Paul L. Parrish, 72, of Ray City, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at his home. Born in Adel on October 8, 1934, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alvin J. Parrish. Mr. Parrish was retired owner of Parrish Monuments. He had served on the Lowndes County Zoning Board of Appeals and was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Cuba Rogers Parrish of Ray City; daughters and sons in law, Paula and Jack Arnold of Ocala, Florida, Vicki and Tony Franks of Valdosta, son and daughter in law, Tony and Becky Parrish of Valdosta and daughter, Angel Alger of Macon; eleven grandchildren, Nicki Goble, Stephanie Carter, Heather McTaggart, Amber McTaggart, Annie Arnold, Talon Franks, Tori Pittman, Ryan Parrish, Ansley Parrish, Cyrus Parrish, Brent Biles, Dean Alger; six great grandchildren; sister, Lena Bell and Joe Resta of Adel, brother, Carlton and Jeanette Parrish of Thomasville, Delores and John Mainor of Adel. Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by brothers, Randall Parrish, Wodell Parrish and Carey Parrish, and sisters, Myrtle Metts and Dorothy Pilcher.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2007, at 4 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Willis, Reverend Rick Stevens, and Reverend Ricky Pilcher officiating. Burial will follow at Nashville Memorial Gardens in Nashville. The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia or to the Gideons.
